This series is the culmination of a year-long project where I replicated a variety of vintage/antique recordings in glass. Each glass record is reproduced from an original 78 rpm record. The records croon a scratchy, hollow and haunting tune that's little more than surface noise. This eery music represents the loss and deterioration of information over time. Each time the record is played, the sound becomes a bit more distorted, as the needle traces the grooves. This collection of glass records was part of a thesis I put together to earn my B.F.A. from Southern Illinois University.
